Monmouth County Libertarian Freeholder candidates set new records Nov. 5 based on unofficial returns. Jennifer Carter was again our top vote-getter polling 5,147 votes followed by Joe Conklin with 4,195 for a total of 9,342 or 2.90% of the vote. Republicans Powers and Larrison won with 178,439 votes or 55.49%. Democrats Pringle and Szeliga received 133,806 votes or 41.61%.

This is not only a dramatic increase over our traditional 1.4% of the vote, it's a significant improvement over last year when the team of Carter and Jay Edgar polled 1.74%. And this year's raw numbers are a healthy increase over the 3,352 votes Carter garnered then, which at the time was a new record for Freeholder votes.

In the U.S. Senate race Liz Macron came in fourth in Monmouth County receiving 1,588 votes or .92%. Statewide she also finished fourth receiving 12,375 votes or .60% of the statewide total.

In the Fourth CD Keith Quarles finished third with 1,739 votes or 1.08% districtwide. However it appears that in the district's Monmouth municipalities he received 1,155 votes or 2.55%.

In the 12th CD Tom Abrams came in fourth district wide with 1,317 votes or .75%, however this wasn't all that far behind the 1,910 for the third-place Green Party candidate. And in the district's Monmouth municipalities he came in third with 461 votes or .97%.

In the 6th CD Barry Allen finished fourth districtwide with 1,188 votes or .87%. However he did better in the Monmouth municipalities polling 660 votes or .92%. This was only 8 votes less than the third-place Green candidate.

In Ocean County Macron received 692 votes placing fourth with .47%, below her statewide average. This like the above results demonstrates the importance of having the third column and the fullest ticket possible as we did in Monmouth County. In Ocean County they stuck our two candidates on the last column.

In the 3rd CD Raymond Byrne finished third with 1,302 votes or .70%. In the district's Ocean County municipalities, however, he received 441 votes or just .56%. But in the municipalities in Camden County where we again had a good ballot position and a full slate he received 254 votes or 1.20%.

Again all results are unofficial. We'll issue an update as soon as possible.
